Caneel Bay daily room rates, which are quoted in US dollars and based upon a European Plan, are subject to a USVI occupancy tax, which is currently 12.5%. Please note that beginning January 1, 2016 the local government has taken the decision to increase the USVI occupancy tax from 10% to 12.5%. This change will be reflected on all guest accommodation charges, starting the night of January 1st 2016. Please note that there continues to be no tax charged on food and beverage consumed in the USVI and Caneel Bay's current nightly service charge of 10% is not subject to change at this time. The service charge covers gratuities for all resort employees with the exception of wait staff in our dining rooms, lounges and room service; these gratuities are discretionary. Rates apply to single or double occupancy. Maximum of 3 people per room. Third person in the room ages 12 years and older is an additional $80 daily, third person in the room ages 5-11 years is an additional $40 daily. Rates, tax and service charge subject to change without notice.
Caneel Bay has become known throughout the Caribbean for its blend of gracious elegance and informality. To preserve this for our guests, we suggest the following guidelines. For dining in the Turtle Bay Estate House, we ask ladies and gentlemen to dress for the occasion in appropriate evening resort wear. In the Caneel Beach Terrace and Caneel Beach Bar and Grill, there is a more casual atmosphere and gentlemen may choose to wear either long or short pants as part of their attire. During the daytime, please bring a shirt, wrap or cover-up to wear over your bathing suits when enjoying our restaurants, bars and public areas. On our tennis courts, traditional tennis attire is required. Collared shirts for gentlemen and a tennis dress or full-length blouse with skirt or shorts is appropriate for ladies. Proper tennis shoes are required for play on the courts.
